AMC COLLEGE welcomes new students on 18 AUGUST 2022. Kicking off the orientation activities is a career talk that was conducted with invited speakers from the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) Sabah Regional Office.  The main objective of the talk was to raise awareness among students on the importance of registering as members of MIA and to enrich students on their career progression in the industry. 

Twenty students participated in the talk comprises of students from the Diploma in Accountancy (DIA) program and Diploma in Business Administration (DIBA). Two members of the academic staff, Ms Melissa Della Joy (DIA Program Coordinator) and Mr Mohd Adza bin Mohd Jefrie (DIBA Program Coordinator) also joined and supported the event.  MIA representative speaker was Ms Catherine Linggian and Ms Susan Maiks.

The speaker, Ms Susan described in detail what MIA is and the route to becoming an MIA member. She emphasises very much on the need to become a qualified accountant, especially in this IR4.0 environment. She also demonstrated the membership application process and the benefits of becoming a member. On top of that, she also explained the vital role as an accountant and the relevant skills sets that students need to thrive in the industry.

Before the event ended, students were given opportunities to ask questions in the Q&A session. The students were keen to raise their concerns and doubts about a career in the industry. Students also shared their reasons for undertaking the diploma of their choice. It was a very fruitful event that ended with a group photo session.
