Kota Kinabalu, 27 February 2025 – The Majlis Amanat Bendahari Negeri 2025, held at Marriott Hotel, Kota Kinabalu, marked a significant milestone in enhancing financial and accounting expertise within the State Treasury Department of Sabah (Jabatan Bendahari Negeri Sabah). One of the key highlights of the event was the presentation of Letter of Good Standing from CIMA in recognition of five JBNS staff who completed the AICPA & CIMA Chartered Global Management Accountant Finance Leadership Program (CGMA FLP).
The following staff were honored for their achievement:
- Puan Dayang Sablinah Sabli – Chief Assistant Treasurer (Operations), State Treasury Department of Sabah
- Puan Norimah Amin – Deputy Director, Public Works Department
- Puan Celorline Jaikul – Accountant, State Treasury Department of Sabah
- Encik Mohd. Haafiq Hanafiah – Accountant, Sabah State Department of Agriculture
- Encik Mohammad Ridhwan Palianan – Branch Treasurer, Keningau Treasury Branch
The Letter of Good Standing was officially presented by Ms. Saritha Subramaniam, Director SEA Markets at AICPA® & CIMA®, and accompanied by Mr. Bryan Lo, Chief Executive of AMC University College, the official training provider for the CGMA FLP.
In delivering the State Treasurer’s Address, YBhg. Datuk Mary Angela Sipaun, State Treasurer of Sabah, emphasized the importance of continuous professional development in financial and accounting, particularly management accounting. She highlighted the State Treasury Department of Sabah’s commitment to supporting its personnel in obtaining globally recognized professional certifications such as CIMA CGMA FLP, ensuring the advancement of financial and accounting leadership, decision-making, and governance excellence within the public sector.
The event underscores Sabah’s dedication to enhancing financial and accounting competency within its government agencies, aligning with international best practices. Through strategic initiatives such as this, the State Treasury Department of Sabah continues to champion excellence in public sector financial and accounting leadership.
As the official training provider for CGMA FLP, AMC University College plays a crucial role in this initiative. Notably, AMC University College is the Global Silver award winner in the U.K. Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Campus Culture Excellence Award 2022, reinforcing its reputation as a leader in professional accounting education.
